“My timing and speed and stuff is there, it’s just more technique and getting more leverage,” Dach said. “My arms are so long that I’ve got to get down lower and start to cheat a little bit better and just start winning faceoffs. I guess at the end of the day, that’s what it comes down to, right?”
Bucs coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID and has “mild symptoms.” Arians, a 69-year-old cancer survivor, could miss Sunday’s matchup against the Jets in New Jersey, although he could test negative before the game. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni tested positive on Dec. 22 and was able to return to coach a blowout win over the Giants on Dec. 26.
The commission said Tuesday in a news release that Demery’s “agreement has been terminated” effective immediately, giving no reason. The release said Demery, who is serving a life sentence for the first-degree murder of James Jordan in 1993, would be reviewed again for parole on or about Dec. 15, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Big Ten became the latest conference to tweak its forfeit policy, joining the other Power Five conferences, the Big East and most others. The Big Ten said games won’t automatically be forfeited if a team or teams are unable to participate because of COVID-19. Instead, games can be rescheduled, declared a no contest or a forfeiture.
“You’re always subject to what the Canadian government’s going to do, and you respect that and our Canadian teams know that,” AHL president and CEO Scott Howson told The AP on Tuesday. “Our protocols are always subject to whatever the Canadian government’s saying, so if we do something that’s less restrictive, but the Canadian government is obviously saying, ‘Well, you have to do this,’ then that’s what the Canadian teams have to do.”
“Something that hits you with chest congestion and nasal congestion and stuff like that, all of that is going to be tough for anybody, especially having to get yourself back ready to play a game,” Robinson said. “Losing weight and things like that, it all factors in it. I’m getting better, I feel better, so now it’s just trying to stack these days on top of each other.”
