The Hawks came in with 10 players in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and two more who were injured, basically putting the load on the shoulders of Young, their all-everything point guard. Young came into the night ranked fourth in the league in scoring at 27.3 points per game while his 9.3 assists per game ranked third. Dosunmu, who just came off the health and safety protocols list, helped prevent Young from taking over the game Monday, though Young still scored 29 points on 8-for-23 shooting.
“I’m a big believer (of) when you start something you finish it,” said Parker, a two-time Olympic gold medalist. “When you say something, you do it. I’m not perfect, as I do say stuff and don’t follow through. My parents taught me don’t quit. I wanted to finish my career in LA, but I also finished my contract, I committed to that amount of time. I didn’t ask to be traded. The better opportunity for me and my family was to go back home.”
“Wanting to not be a bum on the way out and to still be able to play, I think, is important to me,” Rodgers said. “If this year has taught me anything, it’s that I still can play, I still have a love for the game, I’m still super competitive and still enjoy the process of the week. I miss practice and it’s tough to not be out there week after week now, but I still do love competing and I love being out there.”
The Blue Demons (9-2) trailed 37-26 at halftime by as many as 12 in the second half left before cutting their deficit to 60-58 with four seconds remaining on a Brandon Johnson free throw. But Johnson missed the game-tying attempt, and Butler held on for the win despite scoring a season-low 26 second-half points.
Ultimately, Nagy said there will be communication involving all three quarterbacks, general manager Ryan Pace, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo as the Bears craft a plan against the Giants, who have lost four straight and are without starting quarterback Daniel Jones, who is out for the season with a neck injury.
“He’s just so calm, man,” LaVine said. “I’ve always been somebody, especially in my past experience, where it’s like, ‘OK I’ve got to do it now and do everything.’ It’s like, we’re down 10, I want to try to get it back right away. But he’s so calm. It doesn’t matter if he’s got 25 going into the fourth or he’s got four. He takes that fourth quarter as a totally different game.”

NHL cuts COVID-19 isolation time to 5 days in the United States, but 10-day period remains in Canada
The change only applies in the United States because of stricter pandemic regulations in Canada. Players, coaches and staff who test positive for the coronavirus can return after five days with a negative PCR test or two negative rapid test results taken more than two hours apart.
The annual winter meetings, which were canceled this year because of the lockout, are one of the smartest marketing ploys of any professional sports league. The hotel lobby is always buzzing with activity, and MLB Network airs hour after hour of coverage, including interviews with executives, managers and reporters.
That’s a good question. Matt Nagy has said Fields is day to day with an ankle injury that I’m told had him in a walking boot last week. They have some time to see how Fields comes along after he suffered the injury in the Week 15 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but if I had to venture a guess, they might stick with Foles on Sunday at Soldier Field. The offense clicked a little bit in the Week 16 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, and 25 points has been hard to come by for the offense. The Bears went three-and-punt on the first possession, and from that point on, they moved the ball and controlled the clock. Perhaps Nagy would pivot back to Dalton if his groin injury is improved. The unknowns are where Fields and Dalton will be healthwise, but it would be easy for the team to say Fields isn’t quite ready to be cleared for game action and go with a veteran. Nagy has a 33-32 record, playoffs included, and a victory over the Giants would ensure he’s over .500 after four seasons.
