The discovery of Wade’s DNA on the clothes of first-grader Lindsey Murdock Jr. was a watershed moment in the case. Mark Maxson, who had previously been found guilty of the murder despite forensic evidence excluding him, was released in 2016 after nearly a quarter-century behind bars. Three other teenagers also were seriously wounded in the shooting. A 17-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago in serious condition with a gunshot wound to his neck. A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back, and he was in critical condition at the University of Chicago. Another boy, 17, was shot in his left shoulder and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he had been listed in serious condition, police said.

One late amendment to the bill was to allow social equity applicants, meant to apply primarily to minority investors, to open a new shop within 1,500 feet of an existing shop. Law enforcement personnel were at a home in the 1400 block of Orchard Lane working in a rear corner of the yard by a shed Tuesday afternoon. The search is the result of a lead in the case of Linda Seymour, who was reported missing from Northbrook in December 1982, according to police.
