There were 1,107 coronavirus patients in hospitals statewide as of Monday Night, the first time since June 1 that more than 1,000 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 in Illinois. Over the past week, there has been an average of 938 COVID-19 patients in hospitals per day, more than double the average of 423 patients during the week ending July 2.
The full list of the areas under the guidance is: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Those regions have passed the threshold of 15 daily cases per 100,000 residents, subjecting them to the advisory.

The man was driving minutes after midnight when he noticed a dark gray Chrysler 300 seemed to be following him, according to police. He made some turns, thinking if he changed his route maybe he’d learn he wasn’t being followed, but the driver of the Chrysler continued to give chase.
The DUI case dates to late December 2020. Moreno crashed into several cars in the 1200 block of North Astor Street, then turned onto Division Street and crashed into a tree, Assistant State’s Attorney Kiran Gupta said Tuesday. Officers found him trying to accelerate into the tree; his blood alcohol content was .332 — far above the legal limit, Gupta said.
