“No contact with this person, Mr. Danzy, direct or indirect,” Gilbert said. “(Not) by person, by telephone, by letter, by email, by social media, by hand signals, by smoke signals, by carrier pigeon, no contact at all with that person under these conditions.”
“CPS now proposes to offer testing to all adult teachers and staff but NOT to all students. Limited student testing would be triggered by the citywide transmission rate and, except for sports, only offered to unvaccinated students,” the union tweeted Wednesday. “While Chicago’s current transmission rate is high enough to trigger student testing, we believe any testing program needs to cover all students — including vaccinated students, as we know the virus can be transmitted by both the vaccinated and unvaccinated.”
Sergio Hernandez, 40, of the 3100 block of North Austin Blvd., Chicago, was charged with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and concealment of a death. Joslia Williams, 18, of the 1700 block of North Menard Ave., Chicago, was charged with child pornography and concealment of a death, according to the Oak Park Police Department.

Wednesday morning, Commonwealth Edison reported that there was still about 230 power outages that affected about 5,600 people, or less than 5% of its customers, in Chicago, according to its outage map. Countywide there was about 830 power outages that affected about 27,800 people, out of about 2,370,000 customers.

Shots were reported outside a police station at 6:56 a.m. on the 5700 block of West Madison. A 27-year-old man was found lying in the street, hit four times in the lower half of his body, police said;bullets also hit five of the station’s windows, but no one inside the building was injured.
Police were called to the 400 block of Pine Creek Drive around 9:30 p.m. for a report of “an individual who was behaving erratically,” according to a news release from the agency. Three police officers entered the residence they were called to and encountered a man with a gun, “which he pointed directly at the officers,” officials said.
