Dawn Frankowski, of Naperville, and David Wiersma, of Posen, were charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., with entering and remaining in a restricted building and disorderly conduct on U.S. Capitol grounds, according to court records.
PAWS, a managed admission shelter, is the largest intake partner of Animal Care and Control, she said, and has about 600 animals in total (including fosters), some of the larger numbers in the area. About 2:40 p.m., the boy was in front of a business in the 8300 block of South Holland Road when a vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, police said. The boy was shot in the chest and was initially taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

Five people, including Hicks, were originally charged in connection with the shootings that killed Gadau, 17, and injuried his female friend Jeanette Spitz. Prosecutors said the shooting was part of a drug robbery gone wrong. The group planned to steal $500 worth of cannabis from Gadau’s friend Jeanette Spitz, who was shot in the face and seriously wounded during the robbery in Skokie in September 2014, prosecutors said.
At some point before Tuesday’s hearing, Cole also admitted to another, unrelated murder that happened July 18, two days after Alexander Davis, 29, was fatally shot, officials said. During that taped conversation, Cole said he had been one of the gunmen in the July 16 homicide. Cole was identified in both cases because a Lexus used in both shootings was registered under his name, according to prosecutors.
