Supply chain issues, which led to customers buying earlier this year and to fewer discounts, could make Cyber Monday anti-climactic. Even acknowledging these issues, “it will probably be a pretty strong Cyber Monday,” said Gabriella Santaniello, founder of retail research firm A Line Partners, based in Los Angeles.
Hickey spoke as part of a presentation by the Joyce Foundation, a Chicago-based nonprofit, which also included a panel discussion by Robert Boik, CPD’s executive director of constitutional policing and reform; Chicago Police Board President Ghian Foreman; and Cara Hendrickson, a former attorney with the Illinois attorney general’s office and executive director of a nonprofit that addresses structural racism.
“Based upon the foregoing, pending a final determination by the Court on the few remaining legal issues, the Election Division found no change of the Election Results following the Court-ordered Recount,” according to the report from County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek, a Democrat.
“Like all alleged DUI cases, the case against Mr. Wydajewski was 100% avoidable,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin in the release. “As I have said countless times in the past, if you have been drinking, do not drive. This is particularly relevant now, as we begin the holiday season. It is a very simple idea but unfortunately, in far too many instances, people feel they are able to drive when they are not, and tragedy follows as alleged in this case.”
The Police Department has made 1,292 carjacking-related arrests so far this year out of 1,635 reported carjacking incidents, Brown said. Of those, 288 were for vehicular hijacking, 352 were for possession of a stolen car and 642 were for criminal trespass to a vehicle, meaning someone was in a stolen car, Brown said.
He was charged with rape, child molesting, armed robbery, three counts of criminal confinement, burglary, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and carrying a handgun without a license. Whittenburg has a half-dozen prior drug-related and gun felonies from Illinois, according to court documents.
Sherman, who is the director of community outreach for Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change, was part of a Facebook livestream of the scene, which had been viewed 10,000 times as of Monday afternoon. He helped advocate for the family when they arrived.
