Arlington listed nine off-track betting sites on its webpage this fall, at the track in Arlington Heights, and in Aurora, Chicago, Green Oaks, Hodgkins, Hoffman Estates, McHenry, Rockford and Villa Park. Its application for next year is for only five locations, which were not specified at the hearing.

“This court set very clear ground rules as to how communication between this court and the parties was to proceed in effort to make the proceedings much more focused, efficient and respectful than they have ever been in the past. The defendant indicated that he understood these terms,” McHale wrote in the order. “Nevertheless, within minutes, this defendant continued to interrupt this court and also gave evasive answers to very direct questions in an effort to distract, confuse and delay the proceedings as he done regularly throughout these proceedings.”
Shortly after 7 p.m., a man squeezed the handle on a gasoline nozzle at a Shell Gas Station near the intersection of 111th Street and Ridgeland Avenue and felt a needle poke his finger, according to an alert on the Facebook page for Chicago Ridge police. At the base of the needle, which had been stuck to the gas nozzle trigger with an adhesive, the needle contained an “unknown” white powder, it said.

None of the three COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S. contains fetal cells. But cell lines derived from two abortions, performed decades ago, were used in the testing or development of the vaccines, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Other religious authorities, including the Vatican, have deemed the use of the vaccines morally acceptable.
“From that list, if there is a case that comes up this week, we will be implementing test-to-stay. This will be optional. It’s not required. Families will be offered the ability for their students, who would have otherwise been asked to quarantine, to stay in school and participate in this regimented testing program,” Sontag said.
Amid the standoff, Mayor Lori Lightfoot left the city Tuesday for meetings with federal officials in Washington, D.C., about Chicago’s infrastructure agenda. The trip gives Lightfoot distance from the racial ugliness of the map fight, but opens her up to criticism that she should be staying home to try to broker peace.
