In particular, prosecutors noted that the jury selection in the case effectively drilled down on any preconceived notions potential jurors had about Kelly, including whether they had seen the “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries and whether they could be fair and render a verdict based solely on the evidence presented in court.

Authorities were called to the 600 block of East Morgan Drive around 8:30 p.m. after getting a report that a red SUV traveling east struck “the driver-side door of a silver Chrysler sedan, which was also traveling east,” according to an online media notification from police. The driver of the red SUV apparently “sideswiped” the silver sedan, officials said.

While standing in line, Martinez and Larrama appeared to get into a confrontation, according to video obtained by police. Martinez then began walking away, and Larrama chased after him, the prosecutor said. The bouncer allegedly attacked Martinez and stabbed him, the prosecutor added.
