In 2020, Acevedo, a former Chicago police officer, told the Tribune he had worked as a consultant paid by John Bradley, a former House Democrat from Marion who was a contract lobbyist for ComEd until November 2019. Acevedo said then that he did not lobby for ComEd, but he said he was a consultant for Bradley about ComEd issues.
“Since March of 2020, we’ve followed all the rules from the governor to the Illinois Department of Public Health,” said Jim Pilmer, executive director of the Fox Valley Park District. “We continue to follow in that regard. But we’re now hearing that people are getting to meet other people for the first time – some of them are staff and some are customers and the mood is more upbeat. We still strongly encourage people to wear masks if they’re more comfortable but overall, I’ve noticed that things are more upbeat.

“My grandmother Margaret Baxter Foster loved clothes, and she loved to buy clothes,” related Lake Forest resident Ellen Stirling, third-generation owner of The Lake Forest Shop. “She particularly loved to buy clothes from a woman named Coco Chanel.”

The agency later issued a correction, writing: “Effective today, Feb. 28, 2022, due to the CDC’s recommendation that masks are needed only in areas of high transmission, Governor J.B. Pritzker lifted the state’s indoor masking requirements, including the use of face coverings in day care settings.”
