Since the start of the year, Democrats and Republicans in the state legislature have been working behind closed doors with the governor’s office, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, which has administered the unemployment funds and come under fire at times for poor management of their disbursement, along with business and labor groups to figure out a way to pay off the debt.

On March 15, Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen, developer John Murphy and Skokie Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Howard Meyer were among the community leaders and building teams at a ribbon-cutting for the building, Highpoint at 8000 North, on the northwest corner of Lincoln Avenue and Oakton Street in Skokie.
The company has signed a lease to occupy 133,000 square feet at 3500 Lacey Road, which is about one mile west of its current Downers Grove location, spokesman Greg Thompson said in an email. The company’s current Downers Grove office is about 178,000 square feet. The Downers Grove office has about 625 employees working flex schedules, meaning they spend at least three days a week in the office, and about 400 fully remote workers, Thompson said.
