The merger will result in a new parent organization led by the head of NorthShore, with two regions: one that would include NorthShore’s hospitals in Highland Park, Skokie, Glenview and Evanston and the other that would include Edward Hospital in Naperville, Elmhurst Hospital, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health in Naperville, Swedish Hospital on Chicago’s North Side, and Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Ankur Dahiya, who launched his software startup RunX last year during the pandemic lockdowns, believes that remote work has helped him hire employees that otherwise may not have been candidates. The eight-worker startup rents a San Francisco office one day a week so Dahiya can meet with employees who live nearby, but other employees are in Canada, Nevada, and Oregon. The workers living outside of California have been flying in once every three months for “super productive” meetings and brainstorming, says Dahiya, who has previously worked at Facebook and Twitter.

“Joanne was a once-in-a-lifetime leader. She was brilliant in her field, and her work will have an impact for generations to come,” Shirley Ryan said. “She is the first person in her field to have integrated the translational science of blended disciplines, of medicine, habilitation and rehabilitation, and she’s done it with science, scholarliness, positive practitioners and technology.”

Built in 2005 and located on an extra-wide corner lot in the Hartland Park development, the house has 4-1/2 bathrooms, two fireplaces, an open floor plan, millwork high ceilings, custom lighting and window treatments, a primary bedroom suite with an all-stone spa bath and a double vanity, a great room with built-ins, and a kitchen with quartz countertops, a herringbone backsplash, a butler’s pantry with a wine refrigerator and Sub-Zero and Viking appliances. The house also has a lower level with a family room and an attached two-car garage.

Many recent area housing developments had been concentrated on such high-amenity rental projects, such the 295-unit Ninety7Fifty on the Park apartments northwest of La Grange Road and 143rd Street, and Residences of Orland Park Crossing, which has 230 housing units northeast of that intersection, both in Orland Park, and the Boulevard at Central Station in Tinley Park.
