A. On Sept. 27, 2021, ABOMA and the SEIU Local 1 entered into two memorandums of understanding related to mandatory vaccination policies for certain union employees. The memorandums allow employers, including condominium associations, to mandate that certain union employees obtain a COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment provided that certain factors are met as described in the memorandums and no exemptions apply. ABOMA is requesting condominium associations approve the authorization of the memorandums of understanding by Oct. 12, 2021.

Workers at Nabisco plants in five states went on strike in August to protest plans by Nabisco’s parent, Mondelez International, to move some work to Mexico, among other issues, according to the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, which also represents the Kellogg’s workers. That strike ended last month when workers ratified a new contract.
