Many companies, including Lowe’s and Target, have publicly said they would abide by any federal vaccine mandate and were taking steps to meet it, but stopped short of coming out with their own requirement. General Motors said in an email to The Associated Press Friday that it “stands firmly in support” of COVID-19 vaccinations, and that it was reviewing the rules “with multiple internal and external stakeholders.”
The deadline for tax returns to be filed is Monday, April 18 this year, three days later than the normal April 15 deadline for filing taxes. The later date is a result of a Emancipation Holiday in the District of Columbia. By law, Washington, D.C., holidays impact tax deadlines for everyone the same way federal holidays do.

NEW YORK — Omicron is shining a spotlight on the disparities between who gets paid sick days and who doesn’t. Nearly 80% of all private sector workers get at least one paid sick day, according to a national compensation survey of employee benefits conducted in March by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. But many workers are vulnerable, particularly those in the low income bracket.

Raised in Buffalo Grove and then Lake Forest, Vaughn owned the top three floors in the Palmolive — the 35th, 36th and 37th — from 2006 until 2016. He paid $12 million in one deal for all three floors, but he ultimately sold the triplex in two pieces in 2016, unloading the top two floors for $8 million and then selling the 35th-floor unit for $4.1 million.
Amtrak threw its support behind the merger Thursday, saying Canadian Pacific has consistently earned top marks for causing the least delay to Amtrak passengers. Canadian Pacific has also committed to working with Amtrak to expand and extend service, Amtrak said, including more service between Chicago and Milwaukee and extending additional service to St. Paul, Minn.
