A 43-year-old bicyclist was critically injured Monday night after he disregarded a right light and was struck by a vehicle in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m., a driver was southbound in the 2600 block of North Pulaski Road when a bicyclist ran a red light at the intersection. The bicyclist was taken in critical condition with blunt force trauma to the head and body to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The driver was not cited for any traffic violations, police said.
Detectives are investigating.
