Advanced defensive metrics provide a harsher critique of the Cubs’ defensive performances six weeks into the season. Their minus-6 Defensive Runs Saved rank 25th while they also fall in the bottom third of the league in Ultimate Zone Rating (-3.8, 22nd), Revised Zone Rating (.792, 23rd) and Defense Runs Above Average (-4.8, t-24th). These statistics help build a more complete picture of the Cubs defense, thoughdefensive sabermetrics always come with the caveat regarding sample size.

Dear Wondering: This story isn’t quite holding together for me (are these children twins, or did these encounters happen over the course of a couple of years?), and so I am trying to imagine the conversation your husband might have with the kids: “When I was 19 I had sex two times with a woman who claimed I fathered both of her children, but I don’t think I did …. Sooooo, just giving you a heads up!”
Even with Thursday’s win, there’s plenty of work to be done for the Bulls to reach the postseason. They have only one path remaining to make the play-in: win both of their remaining games and hope the Wizards lose out. So while the Bulls’ late-season push is admirable, it still seems almost certain to fall short.
