On May 14, the 42-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 500 block of West Hawthorne Place, when her ex-husband, Paul Woebel, 47, came up behind her and struck her in the head, Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said in a bond hearing streamed live Wednesday on YouTube. The woman fell to the ground and Woebel continued hitting her in the arms and head as she tried to shield herself from the blows, Murphy said.

“Skating is much more of an individual sport, and then there is a team event once the team is picked,” he said. “Even though these are guys that I’ve known for a long time, you still have to mesh together to bring it together for the team event and baseball. There’s a lot of pieces to the puzzle, but thankfully I’ve grown up playing both sports, so I’ve always had that team atmosphere with me. I was always so excited for the team event in speedskating. And I think that had to do a lot with growing up playing baseball and the amount of friendships and bonds that I created.”

Carlos Carcach, a profesor at El Salvador’s Superior School of Economics and Business, argued that adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender “is not necessary, nor convenient,” though he added, “as long as there is someone who accepts payment with Bitcoin, the same as they accept dollars, there wouldn’t be problems.”
