Platforms, which in some places are just over 3 feet wide, will double in width, and four elevators will make the station comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A weather-protected, accessible walkway will help riders transfer between the station’s two platforms, and the work will improve the connection between the elevated lines and underground Red Line station on State Street.
