The financial penalty is the largest ever ordered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, a non-governmental organization that oversees the brokerage industry, and one that “reflects the scope and seriousness of Robinhood’s violations,” said Jessica Hopper, head of FINRA’s department of enforcement.
AAA anticipates near-record high travel volumes nationally. More than 47.7 million Americans will take at least one trip over the holiday weekend, according to AAA, which defines the weekend as the period between Monday and July 5. Of those, a record 43.6 million will travel by car, an 8% increase compared with 2019, which had the previous record. The state’s highest court last year ordered that speedy trial deadlines could be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ordinarily, defendants can formally demand trial, at which point prosecutors have a specific time frame in which they must bring them to trial or the case is dismissed.
The nurses’ union and health system reached the tentative agreement shortly after midnight Monday, said Angela Walker, a Cook County Health nurse and member of the bargaining team. As part of the proposed contract, Cook County Health has agreed to add another 300 nurses within 18 months and give nurses raises, and pay them incentives to help with retention, she said.
The Indiana lawsuit maintains the requirement wrongly singles out doctors providing abortion drugs and their patients. The plaintiffs include Planned Parenthood, which operates abortion clinics in Indianapolis, Merrillville, Bloomington and Lafayette, and groups that operate other clinics in Indianapolis and South Bend.
