Bedi cited the latest report from an independent monitor reviewing police efforts to comply with a federal consent decree, a report that said an audit identified 590 foot pursuits — between April 1, 2019, and Dec. 31, 2019 — that were described in department documentation of arrests but not counted in its data collection.

Platforms, which in some places are just over 3 feet wide, will double in width, and four elevators will make the station comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. A weather-protected, accessible walkway will help riders transfer between the station’s two platforms, and the work will improve the connection between the elevated lines and underground Red Line station on State Street.

Jimenez, 28, had been on the police force for two years when he was gunned down coming to the aid of other officers during the Mercy Hospital shooting. He was married with three small children. Two other people, including the shooter’s former fiancee and a pharmacy resident, were killed during the attack.
“He still has hockey left to go,” Bowman said during exit interviews in May, “but he’s a player we’d like to get over here to North America. Whether he’s in Chicago or not, we’ll see. But he had a great season, so pretty optimistic about his potential, whether it’s next year or the year after.”

“I saw the car heading northbound (on Port de L’eau Court), and then I assume it turned right on the service road there to get back out,” Ciesielski said, pointing to the T in the road. “It was a small maroon car — like a two-door Honda Civic — that I’d never seen. I’ve lived here 16 years, so I know the cars that belong here usually.
