Martin Malin, a law professor emeritus at Chicago-Kent College of Law and a Biden appointee to a federal labor panel, said the FOP’s plans are “uncharted territory” when it comes to the definition of a strike. But he cautioned that the old labor adage, “obey now, grieve later,” would be the wisest course of action for the FOP should they wish to avoid punishment for insubordination.
“We have a little bit of a different look,” he said. “We’re trying to build not just a purely skilled team, so I think those guys are very skilled, Gaudette and Strome both, they did well. There’s nothing wrong with the way they played. But where we are tonight, they’re not in the lineup but they’re still with us, they’re still part of the team, and all you can ask them to do is keep being ready when their opportunity comes.

Police joined a search around 10 p.m. for a vehicle being pursued by Illinois State Police and Posen police. A Tinley Park officer spotted the suspected vehicle and began to pursue it north on Ridgeland Avenue until it crashed into the railroad tracks at Ridgeland Avenue and Oak Forest Avenue and the occupants fled in different directions, police said.
“You have to limit (Quigley’s) separation as much as you can,” Mercury coach Sandy Brondello said. “She got open a few times, but if you leave her open she makes shots. She doesn’t stop moving and this is the Finals. You have to play a little bit tougher, get in their space and be more physical. She still had 19 (points) on us, but we made it as hard as possible.”

And when Parkey’s successor, Eddy Pineiro, had his own hiccups that next fall, Nagy’s trust in his kicking operation shrunk even further.
