Bartlett, whose research includes working to improve the safety and effectiveness of antibiotic use in children, will answer questions about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines for younger children, possible side effects from the shots and what other steps families can take to support their children’s health heading into flu season.
“I feel that returning to the air at this time, in this environment, will be an unfair distraction to my colleagues, and the rest of the morning show members who work so hard,” Ferguson said in an email to staffers of The Mix. “As a result, and after discussions with Hubbard leadership, we’ve decided it is best that I step away from the show. I’m energized to move forward and defend myself against claims made against me and the station, and look forward to seeing them through to their conclusion.”
NorthShore announced in August all of its team members would be required to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 31. The health system includes Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Northwest Community, Skokie and Swedish hospitals. It has about 17,000 employees, including 900 physicians, according to court filings.
“Coach Tabes has been great with all that,” Nagy said. “We do a lot of that anyway, as … I do with the coordinators. But now that he’s in that role where he’d end up having to be the guy that makes the decisions, it’s just giving him support so that he feels good and understands and then … You know, a lot of it too, when you’re in the moment, there’s some things you just can’t predict. There’s a feel to it as well, and that’s where that feel will come into play, and we have a nice little plan in place if that’s the case.”

Supporters of an ordinance to give the council control over “all policies, rules, and regulations governing discipline of city employees” and make the mayor’s vaccine mandate “null and void” called a special meeting on the measure. But only 13 voted in favor of it, short of the 26 needed for passage. Thirty aldermen voted against it.
But if Williams can’t return this season, the Bulls will have work to do to fill the void. His injury potentially opens the door for more playing time for Javonte Green, Derrick Jones Jr. or Troy Brown Jr., though it comes at the expense of the bench, which already is thin with White out following shoulder surgery.
