In the last week alone, former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores, who is Black and Hispanic, sued the league for racial discrimination in its hiring practices, and two former employees of the newly renamed Washington Commanders told Congress that the team’s owner, Daniel Snyder, had placed his hand on a female employee’s thigh at a staff dinner and hosted a work event where team executives hired prostitutes.
“The way they break it down, the diversity training we did, the meetings we have, the new HR people, what to look for, it’s almost like it’s OK to come out and say things. It’s not sit back and just hold it in. They’re here for us and we feel that as a group, as a team, players feel that, myself in general too, players can come to me if they have a problem, well we can go to our higher up and if we have a problem, it’s going to get looked at and taken care of which it did an then we’ll go from there.
According to police, officers responding to a call of gunshots fired at 219 N. Grace Ave. around 8:10 p.m. found the man lying on the ground outside the apartment building with “multiple” gunshot wounds. The man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he died from his injuries, police said.

Just after 2 p.m., police were called to the 12100 block of South Stewart Street where the man had been shot by someone in a dark car, Chicago police said in a media notification. The responding officer “inadvertently struck” the man who was lying in the street, police said.
It only felt fitting that Jacobellis, a five-time Olympian who has been humbled aplenty at the Games, made a breakthrough for a U.S. team that, until she showed up, could not seem to get anything right. Hours before her win, over on the Alpine course, Mikaela Shiffrin skidded out in the slalom to make her 0 for 2 at the Olympics. That opened the door for Jacobellis to flip the script and make some history, too.

“I like this group,” Karnišovas said. “I like this group a lot. … Teams that are close by (in the standings) like Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Philly, they’ve had their group for two or three years at least, and we’ve had this group for three months. We’re still learning, we’re still adjusting and I like this group a lot. There’s a lot of games that we came back (in). We didn’t fold.”
The play: Hester scored 10 touchdowns against the Vikings in his career, more than any other team. In this game, a 34-31 Vikings win, Hester had a career-long 81-yard touchdown reception and an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown, tied for the longest of his career. The Vikings tried to punt away from Hester in the first quarter. But he ran it down for an over-the-shoulder catch at the 11-yard line and then broke to the right sideline, leaving three Vikings tacklers in his wake. In the fourth quarter, Bears quarterback Brian Griese launched a deep ball to Hester, who outran a defender to the end zone to tie it.
