“It’s not just teams making playoff runs. You’ve got teams who are looking for that certain age group, that 22-to-26 age group. If a player is starting to pop, many teams will have interest in that, whether you’re rebuilding or whether you’re trying to win a (Stanley) Cup. He kind of fits both sides because of his age, No. 1, and No. 2 his cap number is not super high because he didn’t have (arbitration) rights this season or next season.
“We do have a pitching plan and then there’s a vision, but as a part of that vision, we have to break down each pitcher individually,” Banner said. “For some players, they go into a velocity bucket. For others, they go into a command bucket. For others, they go into a shape bucket, whatever it may be, that is going to be the key for them to improve enough to move to the next level.
But regardless of his rest schedule, it’s clear the Bulls need to make sure LaVine feels he doesn’t need to do too much on the court to finish the regular season. In previous seasons, LaVine put his body on the line every night in an attempt to scrape out wins. Now he doesn’t have to do as much with help from DeRozan and Vučević.

Defensive quality control assistant Ronell Williams is the only member of Nagy’s staff to remain with the Bears under Eberflus. Coaches who have not landed work for 2022, to my knowledge, include Nagy, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo, wide receivers coach Mike Furrey, tight ends coach Clancy Barone, assistant special teams coach Brian Ginn, strength coach Jason Loscalzo, offensive quality control/quarterbacks coach Mike Snyder, assistant defensive line coach Shane Toub and offensive assistants Tom Herman and Henry Burris.
