As of Tuesday, the city’s test positivity rate of 1.5%, was in the “low transmission” category, while its rate of occupied hospital and ICU beds was in “lower transmission.” The seven-day rolling average of new daily cases was still at “substantial transmission” at 283 cases, but all those categories were decreasing.

The players and teams are far apart on luxury tax thresholds and rates. The teams have told the union they will not increase salary arbitration eligibility, will not decrease revenue sharing and will not add new methods for players to accrue service time, which players said are needed to prevent teams from holding players back to delay free agency.
Katie Kennedy, a spokesperson for Eaton’s aerospace division, declined to confirm for the Register whether company representatives are staying away from talks until March 1, saying only that the company has “proposed dates to continue negotiations.”
“I was in school in freshman seminar class, and the dean came down and got me and walked me to the office,” he said. “And once I reached the office, there were just two police officers there. As soon as I got in, they didn’t tell me nothing or say anything. They just said I was under arrest.”
Prices have risen sharply for cars, gas, food and furniture, but so far it has not held back American consumers, who ramped up their spending at retail stores last month. Though inflation helped juice that figure, most of January’s gain reflected more purchases, not higher prices.

Fire officials said they were called to the same location regarding a shooting, but when they arrived there was no shooting victim and firefighters were told a young child had been shot and someone drove the child to an area hospital in a private vehicle. But because the Fire Department didn’t transport anyone, officials also said they could not provide additional information about the time of the call or any information about a possible victim.
“We were definitely in rescue mode last night, with a helicopter and having everyone out,” Neel said. But the effort turned had been deemed a recovery — meaning there was little hope of locating the man alive — due to factors including low water temperature, the elapsed time since the man went missing and search delays in unfavorable conditions, he said.
