Avid golfers and those who enjoy helping others have a great opportunity to do both with the Apostolic Faith Church’s 14th Annual Golf Outing on August 20, 1:00 p.m., at the Glenwoodie Golf Course, 19301 S. State Street in Glenwood, Illinois. Funds raised will support programs designed to educate and inspire students to strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives.
“For many years the Apostolic Faith Church has been committed to ensuring the young people of our community have access to educational and quality social programs that allow them to thrive in a safe and supportive environment. With the financial generosity of caring and concerned friends, we have reached hundreds of young people giving them renewed hope for their futures,” said Susan D. Smith, First Lady of Apostolic Faith Church. “Last year, our scholarship program gave over $150,000 to undergraduate and graduate students from the church and surrounding high schools in the community, including Wendell Phillips Academy High School, Bronzeville Military Academy, and Dunbar Vocational High School. Our generous friends also helped us provide a number of Saturday programs designed to reach our young people, keeping them safe and actively engaged in ways that nurture their growth and development.”
The golf outing will begin with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m., however, all golfers should arrive no later than 12:45 for an on-time start. The event will conclude at 5:30 p.m. with a special awards dinner. Twosomes for the golf outing are $240. Sponsorship packages as low as $500 are available. The various sponsorship levels allow small businesses to gain brand exposure by sponsoring a golf hole and larger companies to participate in ways that reinforce their commitment to the community.
