The Lake County coroner’s office identified them Monday as Cecilia Gutierrez-Ramos, 29, and Angel Gutierrez.
Police said they were passengers in a Toyota Corolla driven by a 27-year-old Waukegan man that pulled onto Green Bay Road from a private parking lot on the east side of the road and was struck broadside by a northbound Dodge Journey at about 4:15 p.m.

The child, who was in an infant seat in the rear seat behind the driver, was brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. His mother was in the front passenger seat of the Toyota, police said, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. A seven-year-old child in the car and the driver were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The Dodge driver, a 34-year-old Zion man, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Two passengers in his vehicle suffered minor injuries, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
In the second fatal accident, a man laying in a roadway was killed when he was run over by car early Sunday in Beach Park, police said.
The man was struck at about 4:20 a.m. on Lewis Avenue near Hickory Drive. A woman driving a Volvo struck the man as he lay in the southbound lanes of Lewis Avenue. The woman told police she did not see the man.
Authorities are attempting to determine the man’s identity and why he was in the road.
