Woman’s body pulled from Lake Michigan near Oakwood Beach: Police

Chicago Police Department marine unit officers pulled the body of a woman from Lake Michigan near Oakwood Beach Sunday night, police said.

Officers responded to a call about a person in the water and discovered the woman’s body near the 4100 block of S. Oakenwald Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Police estimated the woman was around 30 to 40 years old. She was pronounced dead at the scene near the Oakland community, police said.

The woman who was found has not yet been publicly identified. Police were conducting a death investigation, authorities said.
