Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson will hold a media availability Wednesday afternoon.

In advance of Lollapalooza — the music festival that will bring hundreds of thousands of people to Grant Park this weekend — more than 100 migrants have been moved out of 1st District police station on the Near South Side. Mayor Brandon Johnson later tweeted that the “transition of new arrival families from District 1 was planned by the City in conjunction with mutual aid volunteers to coincide with the opening of the Broadway Armory as shelter.”

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
