Check the pots they are growing in to make sure there is a drainage hole in the bottom, or else it will be easy to overwater the plants causing root rot. Spider plants prefer to dry out between watering, so water them thoroughly enough that the water runs out of the bottom of the pot. You may want to put a saucer under the pots to avoid a mess on the furniture. But a word of caution: Clay saucers under a pot will hold some moisture at the bottom, which can damage a wood surface. The plants should not be left sitting in a saucer full of water.
