National Weather Service officials issued a beach hazard statement warning of dangerous currents and waves between 5 to 8 feet expected Tuesday afternoon at Lake Michigan’s beaches in Illinois and Indiana.
The warning covers beaches in Lake, northern and central Cook counties in Illinois, and Lake and Porter counties in Indiana.
Officials saiid swimming conditions will be life-threatening, especially for inexperienced swimmers.

Current conditions at O’Hare International Airport is mostly cloudy at 72 degrees. At Midway Airport conditions are the same. There is a 50% chance of scattered showers with a high in the low 80s expected.
