Thomas Hammock’s belief in his Northern Illinois team never wavered during a winless 2020. Now the Huskies are enjoying one of the best turnarounds in FBS history.

“We, as a staff and as a team, buy into the fact that we’re going to play complementary football,” Hammock said. “The only thing that we have to do is be able to score one more point than our opponents. When you have that type of mentality and that type of philosophy, it takes the pressure off, it takes the stress off.”
