The Neighborhood Network Alliance (NNA) and Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) bring housing fair to South Shore

Members of the South Shore community will join the Neighborhood Network Alliance (NNA) for a fun-filled day of informative workshops regarding home ownership and resources for renters. Refreshments, trolley tours and additional community-based information will be available. Presented in association with Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, The South Shore Housing Fair will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It will be held at the South Shore International College Preparatory High School, located at 1955 E. 75th St. Chicago, IL 60649. Registration is FREE and open to the public. “In South Shore homeownership is key to establishing a thriving economic foundation in our community. Our stakeholders are homeowners and committed renters that want safe and equitable housing for their families. It is incumbent upon community organizations to assist in making South Shore a safe and vibrant community for our residents, says” Val Free, Founder/CEO of the Neighborhood Network Alliance

“Homeownership is critically important when you are talking about the historic neighborhood of South Shore,” said Anthony E. Simpkins, President, and CEO of Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago. “We are working to reduce the number of vacant properties, and to create opportunities for families to build generational wealth. Boosting homeownership is key to developing thriving communities, and we are pleased that South Shore’s community partners and elected officials are joining us to do that,” he added.

The South Shore Housing Fair is a collaborative effort between the Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago and the Neighborhood Network Alliance to bring an informative, fun housing fair to South Shore. The South Shore Housing Fair is presented in partnership with Verizon, Liberty Bank, ComEd Energy Efficiency Program, U.S. Bank, Amalgamated Bank, Providence Bank & Trust, Fifth Third Bank, Redfin, CIBC, Chicago Community Loan Fund, State Farm, Chicago Investment Corporation, Bank of America, Exit Strategy Realty, and the University of Chicago.

The South Shore Housing Fair will feature:

●        Comprehensive workshops for renters and homeowners

●        Trolley Tours to explore local homes for sale

●        Estate Planning; Property Taxes

●        Resources for Condos/Co-ops

●        Information materials from local organizations, health care facilities, small businesses, and more

●        Refreshments

●        Raffle giveaways and more
