Two of four suspects who fled from Illinois State Police in a stolen vehicle in which AK-style rifles were found are said to be holed up in a condo building on the city’s North Side, police said.
Illinois State Police troopers located the vehicle reported stolen out of Chicago on I-94 Tuesday afternoon, but the suspects fled the area in the vehicle before troopers could initiate a stop, Master Sgt. Delila Garcia, a spokesperson with the state police, said.

The vehicle was tracked to the condo building on the 1100 block of North Wells Street around 3:45 p.m., Garcia said. Four suspects reportedly fled into the building. Troopers recovered the stolen vehicle and found two AK-style rifles inside.
As of 7:45 p.m., two of the four suspects had been taken into custody by state police, Garcia said, while the other two were still believed to be inside the building.

Streets adjacent to the building have been blocked off as Chicago police SWAT and hostage negotiators are still on scene.
