Steve Reaven’s final boys basketball rankings and player of the week for Lake County

With records through Wednesday and previous rankings in parentheses.

1. Libertyville 28-5 (1)

The Wildcats rallied from 11 points down to beat Barrington on Tuesday and will play Prospect for their first sectional title since 1994.

2. Grayslake Central 28-5 (2)

Jake Gibson’s nine points, 13 rebounds and five blocks against St. Viator sparked the Rams, who will play Lake Forest in a bid for their first sectional title.

3. Lake Forest 23-10 (6)

Efe Yardimci hit three 3-pointers and Bolurin Taiwo scored a team-high 12 points in the Scouts’ win against Carmel.

4. Stevenson 22-8 (3)

The Patriots, who lost to Prospect on a buzzer-beater, will bring back starters Aidan Bardic, Jack Dabbs and Christian Uremovich.

5. Lakes 21-8 (5)

Led by Brock Marino, a senior-laden nucleus spearheaded the Eagles’ seven-win improvement this season.

6. Deerfield 22-7 (4)

After losing in a regional final, the Warriors will bring back five of their top seven players as they shift to the Central Suburban South.

7. Carmel 13-21 (9)

The Corsairs gained their footing at the right time to earn a second straight regional title and have three starters returning.

8. Warren 18-15 (7)

The Blue Devils will miss senior forward Adam Panek, but the needle points upward with four others from the rotation coming back.

9. Antioch 17-14 (10)

Marshall Gehrke and Teddi Wetu will be a load for the Sequoits’ opponents the next two seasons.

10. Wauconda 16-13 (8)

The Bulldogs’ season ended with a loss in a regional final to top-seeded Burlington Central, which is still playing.

Senior forward Aidyn Boone scored 26 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, in Libertyville’s 50-47 win against host Barrington in a Class 4A sectional semifinal on Tuesday.
