Niles police are investigating the killing of a 22-year-old outside the Miraj nightclub and have taken a suspect into custody, according to the police department.
Police responded to a call about a person shot at about 1:03 a.m. Sunday, found a male with at least one gunshot wound in the parking lot of the nightclub, at 8801 N. Milwaukee Ave., and began lifesaving measures, according to a police news release.
Niles Fire Department took the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the release.
The victim was a 22-year-old male from Niles, police said.
Police located a suspect, a 25-year-old male from Northbrook, on scene and took him into custody, the release said.
Niles police are actively investigating, but said the incident appears isolated and there is no threat to the community.
