Mass timber construction is becoming more widely used throughout the US. When will it arrive at the home of the Great Chicago Fire?

Years after it emerged as a modern construction method in Europe, mass timber spread to Pacific Northwest cities Seattle and Portland, Oregon. More recently, proposals and completed buildings have popped up in places including Minneapolis; Brooklyn, New York; Indianapolis; Nashville, Tennessee; and Atlanta.
