A man was arrested after firing a rifle at police in Marshall Square Tuesday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Around 10:50 p.m., officers responded to a person with a gun in the 2800 block of West 25th Place. Once they got there, they saw a man holding a rifle in the street.

The man then turned toward the police officers and fired at them, according to police. The officers exited their car, at which time the man dropped the rifle and ran.
According to police, the officers did not return fire and no one was injured.

After a brief pursuit on foot, the man was arrested and the rifle was recovered. Detectives are investigating.
