Man twice convicted in in 1970s killings faces new murder charge in West Side shooting, police say

Bernard Barry, of the 2200 block of South Kildare Avenue in Lawndale, was arrested on his block Monday after a 42-year-old man was shot in the 300 block of North California Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. Barry appeared Wednesday before Cook County Judge Arthur Willis for a bond hearing broadcast on YouTube.
