Local activists disappointed that Army Corps gets go-ahead to extend life of Southeast Side sludge facility

“We were hoping that they would deny the permit. However, it’s not a shock,” said Amalia NietoGomez, executive director of the Alliance of the Southeast, a coalition of community groups. “We are fairly disappointed that toxic dredgings will continue into the new year.”
