The 240-bed rehab center, which Haymarket says is needed to combat the overdose crisis in the suburbs, sparked plenty of resistance from the start. The opposition mostly focused on the potential cost to the village, especially the possibility that Itasca would have to expand its ambulance services to assist the center’s residents.
