A man died during an accidental electrical fire Wednesday afternoon in the New City neighborhood.
The man’s name was not released immediately, according to the fire department, which said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of a coach house at 4631 S. Paulina St., where smoke alarms were not heard.
The fire, caused by improper use of an electrical cord, was extinguished and also left one firefighter suffering from minor injuries, the department said.
