Donald Coleman, older brother of Niecy Mathis, said in a phone interview with the Tribune that his sister left behind five kids, ages 2 to 14, the oldest a girl and the rest boys. Mathis was the party girl of 12 siblings, he said, but she had always put her kids first and made sure they were set before she went out.
