The 50-year-old Berwyn man was inside Curramba restaurant, 2701 W. Division St., about 9:45 p.m. when the gunman drove past, looking for his ex-girlfriend, who was standing outside smoking, according to a police report.

When he opened fire from the car, one round went into the neck of the Berywn man while a second round grazed the index finger of a 40-year-old woman, also inside the restaurant, according to the report.

The victim, whose identity has not been officially released, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The ex-girlfriend, who witnessed the attack, gave police the alleged shooter’s name and police found him a short time later at Augusta Boulevard and Homan Avenue, where he was in a traffic crash. Officers arrested him after he exited the car and hurled a gun to the curb, the report said.

No charges have been announced.
