A 14-year-old girl was in critical condition after being shot during an argument Monday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago police said.
Around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the first block of North Lorel Avenue and found a 14-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. She was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, police said.
A witness at the scene said the girl was shot after an argument among several people. A 50-year-old woman who suffered a stab wound to the left shoulder at the scene was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was listed in good condition, police said.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
