Galen Rupp and Sara Hall headline the Chicago Marathon fields as the race returns in October after being canceled in 2020

Hall, 38, enters the race with an eye on breaking Deena Kastor’s American marathon record of 2:19:36, set in 2006 in London. Hall dropped out of the 2020 Olympic marathon trials but returned in October to finish second in the London Marathon. She ran a 2:20:32 — the second-fastest time by an American woman — in December at The Marathon Project in Chandler, Ariz.
