An extra-alarm fire displaced about 12 people Christmas Eve on the West Side in the Austin neighborhood, officials said.
The fire broke out shortly after 5:15 a.m. at a building in located near Leamington Avenue and Ferdinand Street. At least two structures were damaged in the fire.

No one was injured in the blaze and the Red Cross was on the scene providing assistance.
The extra-alarm was struck out about 7 a.m., officials said.
