The Chicago White Sox are looking to receive an offensive boost, reinstating left fielder Eloy Jiménez from the injured list before Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins.
Jiménez has been on the IL since April 24 with a right hamstring tendon tear. He suffered the injury the previous day trying to beat a throw to first base in the second inning of a game against the Twins at Target Field.

Jiménez is slashing .222/.256/.333 this season with one home run and seven RBIs in 11 games. He slashed .246/.317/.351 with two homers and seven RBIs in 17 games during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.
The Sox also made several other moves Wednesday, placing infielder Jake Burger (bone bruise) on the 10-day IL and right-hander Vince Velasquez (blister) on the 15-day IL. Pitcher Jimmy Lambert was recalled from Charlotte.
