Don’t Miss Donny Hathaway’s ‘A Night At the Museum’ Experience

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Especially if you’re in Chicago. For one night only, the windy city will have the opportunity to have an amazing Donny Hathaway experience on Friday, December 16th during SocialWorks and Chance the Rapper’s 4th A Night at the Museum event. The annual extravaganza is a place where families come for live performances, music, interactive vendors, museum exhibits, giveaways all to benefit the homeless.

This year, the Donny Hathaway Legacy Project is an official vendor, and they will be presenting a “This Christmas immersion experience.“ Attendees will have an opportunity to see a live activation where the lyrics of Hathaway’s 1970 holiday classic “This Christmas” song will come to life.

“I wanted to bring to life the lyrics of ‘This Christmas,’ says Donnita Hathaway, Founder of the Donny Hathaway Legacy Project, and daughter of the Chicago legend. “So from, hang all the mistletoe/fireside blazing bright/as we trim the tree/presents and cards are here, those will be some of the activation spaces in the room that I’ll be in on the 3rd floor.”

The mission of the Donny Hathaway Legacy Project is to provide culturally relevant and accessible mental health-related education, advocacy, and essential resources needed to support underserved youth and marginalized communities.

“I wanted to be able to bring to life the lyrics of the song, but I also wanted to be able to embed a little bit of mental health awareness. It’s been a tough couple of years. If you ever lost a loved one, the holidays are different once they’re gone. So I’m issuing a challenge to our community, let’s make sure that everyone can have a very special Christmas.”

A Night at the Museum is taking place, Friday, December 16th at the Museum of Science + Industry Chicago. Doors open at 6pm, and tickets can be purchased at https://eventnoire.com/e/anatm2022.
