Chicago should prepare to see between 1 and 2 inches of rain Tuesday as waves of soaking rainfall cover the region, according to the National Weather Service.
“People can expect there to be rain in the area pretty much the entire day today,” meteorologist Rafal Ogorek said.

Meteorologists don’t anticipate severe weather, although some isolated thunderstorms may occur. Localized flooding may also occur due to drains being clogged with leaves, Ogorek said.
The rain will be heaviest in the afternoon and early evening, including during the evening commute. Citizens should expect longer travel times due to the rain and reduced visibility, Ogorek said.

Showers will end late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, Ogorek said.
