Chicago Urban League’s Back-to-School Festival Returns on August 6

Students and families will be treated to COVID-19 and school vaccinations as well as free backpacks and school supplies, food, haircuts, and much more

The Chicago Urban League’s Back-to-School Festival is back and better than ever. The annual festival returns this Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the League’s headquarters. Students and families are invited to come out and celebrate the return to school.

To prepare for a successful school year, COVID-19 and school vaccinations will be available as well as backpacks filled with school supplies and free haircuts while parents will also have access to kidney screenings onsite.

Adding to the excitement will be a cheer team performance, live DJ, bouncy house, face painters, a balloon artist, and a food truck for all to enjoy.

Special thanks to Alderman Pat Dowell’s office and Comcast as well as the Chicago Department of Public Health and the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois for the many resources, testing, and screenings being provided free of charge to the community.

Join us Saturday, August 6 for a FREE fun-filled day filled with resources and entertainment as students prepare for a safe and healthy return to school.
