The Office of Labor Standards, which was created in 2019 to enforce the city’s minimum wage, paid sick time and anti-wage theft laws, recently completed an investigation into Tri City Foods, a Downers Grove-based company that bills itself as the second-largest franchisee in the Burger King restaurant chain. Alerted by an employee, investigators found that Tri City Foods allegedly failed to grant paid sick leave to 2,473 employees at 40 Burger King locations in Chicago between July 2017 and November 2020, the city said.
